Folkdrop FAQ
What is Folkdrop?
Folkdrop is a social and cultural signal app. You place one deliberate drop, then Folkdrop shows how that signal sits alongside related drops through aggregated statistics.
What is a drop?
A drop is the one thing that represents what is on your mind today, such as a song, thought, link, prediction or obsession.
How many drops can I post?
Folkdrop is built around one drop per day. The app tells you when today's daily limit has been reached.
Is Folkdrop a traditional social network?
No. Folkdrop does not centre the experience on a public feed, comments, or a follower and engagement race. The focus is the signal created by your daily drop.
Does Folkdrop have an infinite feed?
No. Folkdrop deliberately avoids infinite scrolling. The main action is one daily drop, followed by its result and aggregated context.
What happens after I post a drop?
Folkdrop creates a positioning card and compares your drop with eligible related drops. Some statistics can remain pending while the comparison window develops.
How does Folkdrop use statistics and signals?
Folkdrop uses related drops to calculate aggregated positioning such as rare or mainstream and early or late. Geographic results appear only as sufficiently large, approximate clusters.
Do I need to perform for likes or followers?
No. Folkdrop is designed around one deliberate contribution and the resulting cultural signal, not public follower or engagement counts.
